An elegant Burgundy-style wine with a silky texture and delicate toasted notes. It is straw yellow in color with a golden sheen. The smoky aromas are dominated by delicate hazelnuts and pistachios, followed by various fruit and varietal aromas such as ripe melon and fig. It matures for 12 months on fine lees in 225 l French barrique barrels by stirring and raising the lees back into the wine every 15 days ( batonnage ), after which it is transferred to 100 year old 3000 l oak barrels where it matures for another 12 months. This Chardonnay will age with dignity for at least 10 to 20 years.
